Presentation of L'aventure peugeot Citroën DS
When Pierre Peugeot created Aventure Peugeot in 1982, he intended to lay the foundations for a large-scale heritage organisation to serve the industrial history of the family group. It was already a saga that had impacted French industrial history for two centuries. His project took on a new dimension in 2001 when he inaugurated the Conservatoire Citroën. The energy of the volunteers working on these different projects, with whom Pierre Peugeot was very close, the ever-increasing number of collectors and support from the PSA Group, have over the decades spawned a rich and dynamic organisation.
In 2015 the PSA Group gave the green light to the setting up of Aventure Peugeot Citroën DS, aimed at increasing the efficiency and optimising the running of the project initiated by Pierre Peugeot. Presided over by Xavier Peugeot, Pierre Peugeot’s son, this non-profit organisation governed by 1901 laws extends the Aventure Peugeot remit to cover the Group’s three brands. It also encompasses two heritage entities which help to enrich the Association even further : the Aventure Automobile Collection in Poissy, which connoisseurs know by its CAAPY acronym, and the Peugeot Endowment Fund for the Preservation of Industrial History, more commonly known as the Terre Blanche Archives.
The association, now called Aventure Peugeot Citroën DS, relies on a remarkable network of volunteers for its daily work, in addition to its team of salaried staff. Often former employees of the Group, they are active on all the sites. Appraisals, certification, restoration, archive identification, event organisation, public relations : their experience and knowledge-base are a guarantee of excellence in every field.
Aventure Peugeot Citroën DS is an organisation dedicated to preserving the heritage of its brands, furthering and developing their reputation. Everything is geared towards presenting this heritage to the widest public possible. It is also this heritage which links the association to its French and international members, who are first and foremost enthusiasts with high expectations. By bringing together all the PSA Group brands under one umbrella dedicated to historical preservation, the Association has given itself new means and can move forwards with renewed drive, working for the good of all passions, of all periods and of all people.
